All my white towels, socks and sports bras look dirty white. I use Tide and bleach and they still do not look as white as when I bought them.
A: Oh, don't fret you can have your whites white again. Wash them in Hot water and Clorox Bleach. I sometimes even add some Oxy Cleaner. I use the brand SUN. I like it better than the regular brand...

Brined, herb-roasted Thanksgiving turkey for the holiday. I was never thrilled about turkey at Thanksgiving. One year, I was in charge of the bird and bound and determined I would make it really well. After trying this recipe I feel in love with Thanksgiving turkey and will never do it any other way. It was so moist, everyone loved it. I wish I had some now!

It's My Birthday!
Birthdays' are a conundrum...to wish them away isn't possible, that is if you embrace the idea of living, but to wish for them is to wish that life would keep passing you by. There are a few times in my life that I wish time would stand still. I especially remember that feeling when my father died and when my daughter was born. Both of these events were life altering. I couldn't understand why the rest of the world was continuing to go on as if nothing had happened that day...when I wanted to scream...STOP! My dad just died....STOP! I just gave birth to a new life.
As a kid, birthday's were especially fun. It was the one day that you could choose your favorite meal, which probably was something like peanut butter and jelly, peanut butter and bananas, or peanut butter and lettuce...I ate peanut butter so often that I actually read my first chapter book on George Washington Carver...the inventor of peanut butter. Pop (or soda if you are from the east), was only served at our house on our birthday, which thankfully my mom had 5 kids so we were able to have pop at least 5 times in a year. The cake was served in grand style...with the family singing a rousing round of Happy Birthday to you! The day always felt special.
