A: shut the water off drain the pipes and then pop the caps off the knobs and remove the screws replace and cover.

A: Sometimes there is a locking nut in the middle of the drain. Just use a socket set to unscrew and remove it.
However, if you are remodeling chances are your drain is the older version....
