Although Israel is a tiny country, a bit larger than Vermont and New Hampshire combined, it takes a long time to get anywhere. Barriers and checkpoints are necessary for security. Traffic is another matter. There are so many cars on every road. We drive the barren Judean hills, rocks with bits of vegetation.
