Israel Travel, Part 1

Toronto must surely be one of the world’s most beautiful cities to fly over at night.  Lines of light, like some fantastically intricate display of gemstones in a black-velvet display case, citrines and diamonds embellished with the occasional ruby and emerald, lay out in all directions as far as the eye can see, save for the elegant dark sweep of the lake, which is decorated here and there by dainty bejewelled bangles and island ornaments. The flight was uneventful (some light turbulence vaguely akin to bumps in a newly-paved road, ho hum), and I conked out fairly early.  Good thing, too, or probably the fibro would be eating me alive right now.  I haven’t even gotten anywhere near as into the new Stephen King novel (almost 900 pp in hardcover, possibly not the best choice for a trip!) as I was expecting; usually I tear through King’s prose like a little kid through wrapping on presents.
