Tropicbird is a roomy comfortable long distance cruising yacht. She has sailed most of the world. There are three separate entrances to below, the central cockpit companionway and the fore and aft companionways. 8 berths, 2 heads, 2 showers, galley, large saloon. Cold molded epoxy bonded diag x 3 mahogany wood, solid, no rot, no bugs. She has three separate entrances to below decks. Owner apprentice served boat-builder has re-furbished. All ongoing work is cosmetic. She is now for sale.
Engine Perkins M90 80hp (year 2000) hours run gauge reads 4070 hrs (as of December 2011), lovingly maintained. Good sails, good rig, (easy to singlehand), electronics. (See sale inventory below).

As luck would have it the wind filled in and we had a good sail for the first 4/5 hours, then it was engine on time for a while. Night fell and we experienced an amazing variety of conditions and for brief periods had wind from every compass direction, we were determined to make the most of any wind we had so it meant many changes in direction and of sail sizes ….a busy night ! Morning dawned windless, sunny and HOT! So after motoring for a little while we decided engine off and in for a swim. We were “off soundings” as in our electronics couldn’t “see” the bottom, but a quick check on the chart showed water depth of 600-650m. With slight trepidation we lowered the stern bathing ladder and armed with some shower gel jumped in for a cool off and a freshen up. . She was obviously in distress and managed to just about land on the top of our pitching bimini cover whilst we tramped along at 7 knts. She stayed there for a couple of hours until I spooked her...
