Is it better to buy scented shower gel or lotion?

I want to buy something that will keep me fresh and smelling nice all day. The fragrances I chose were sweet pea or cherry blossom. Would it be better to buy shower gel or lotion and for which fragrance?
I usually get scented body wash and then get a good lotion that is lightly scented or unscented. I personally think that sweet pea is too overwhelming as a spray or lotion and it gives me a headache. I use Nivea lotion. I also am fond of simple Vaseline

does anyone know a good liquid bath or shower gel that smells like baby products?

i like the scent of the soap for adults like us but i noticed that when i sweat it smells odd, not that much but i dont feel fresh. i like the scent of the baby products but when i try my skin dries up. please give me names what liquid soap i should buy
